The pipes which are laid underground is customary to Wrap the strong tape all around to protect it from corrosion, which is very high in underground pipes.

The pipes outer surface shall be blasted to SA 2.5 or SA3.0 and then wrap the surface with high quality tape (Denso or equivalent) of 100mm wide with 50% overlap. Any voids or gaps should be checked and the wrapped surface shall be approved after checking for holes / voids by quality inspector.
